It’s Elementary! Light and Optics for Kids
Light is a fascinating and familiar topic for young kids. It’s also rich and complex, which is great if you are teaching a graduate level course in Quantum Mechanics. But how do you lay the foundation for this exciting topic? What do you teach to the youngest would-be scientists?
At NSTA’s Regional Conference in Long Beach in December, we took a look at this very topic and gave a presentation on how to make this subject accessible and engaging for this young audience. Thanks for all those who attended—it was an outstanding turnout to a standing-only crowd.
Here is a link to the presentation for your use (this is a big PowerPoint file so please be patient while it downloads).
